It is said that a person is lucky to have owned one good field trial dog in a lifetime. I was fortunate to have a great field trial winner, Erin's Whiskey River.
Will was whelped February 6, 2008, one of a large litter of twelve puppies, sired by Erin's Bad River ex Erin's Gypsy.
He started his all-age field trial career with a second in the United States Open Derby in the fall of 2009. The following spring, he won the Alabama Open Championship and the Southern Open Championship.
In his first adult all-age year, he won the Region 6 Amateur All-Age Championship, then won a second Southern Open Championship title in the spring of 2011. He won the Mid-America Prairie Championship in the fall of 2012 and a third Southern Championship in 2014. Six championship titles in all, with an additional five runner-up laurels.
As sad as we are that he’s gone, we are very thankful for all the memories he gave us.
Will was the best field trial dog I could have ever owned. He lived a very spoiled life and set the bar extremely high for the rest of our dogs.
He will be missed at Erin Kennels.
